Take your trail running skills to a higher level—literally. You’ll have fun and expand your running into the world of mountaineering, at Redwood Trails’ new half-day program, Introduction to Rock Climbing for Runners.
In a safe, indoor, supervised environment, you’ll discover how easy it is to apply your running fitness and quickly master special skills for bagging mountain tops. You’ll receive detailed, guided instruction and have lots of supervised practice time in this engrossing five-hour program. Your fit legs are a big advantage for learning to climb quickly and safely.
While magazines feature spectacular photos of climbers doing one-armed, fingertip pull-ups on the edge of a mountain, your most useful tool in the real world is excellent foot technique and leg power. In this program you’ll learn to use the strength in your runners’ legs to push your way up the mountain versus pulling your way to the summit by your fingers.
